There is a place beyond the last lantern light, where moonbeams rest on dark leaves and time moves more slowly….as slow as you could possibly think is possible. This is the Obsidian Garden - a hidden garden of night-blooming beauty, devotion, and quiet magic. Ione Moon was created there.
Her name, Ione, comes from ancient Greek language, meaning the violet flower - a symbol of devotion, humility, and delicate strength. Like the flower itself, she belongs to the softer, shadowed places, blooming quietly beneath the moon rather than in the open sun.
Ione Moon carries the calm of dusk and the hush of petals after dark. She was crafted slowly and entirely by hand with the exception of some assistance from my sewing machine. Every stitch has intention, slow contemplation and a quirky detail that makes her perfectly imperfect. She is truly one of a kind, I will never make another exactly like her. When I create each doll, I create it with the hope that , when held, the doll offers a sense of peace, a sense of stepping outside the present moment - into something quieter and slower.
Ione is not merely a doll, but a creation from the Obsidian Garden, meant for collectors who cherish subtle magic and quiet beauty.
Dimensions and specifications of your doll:
Ione is 23 inches from head to toe and about 7 inches in width, from elbow to elbow.
Her body is made with quality cotton fabric. It has been stitched and filled with polyfil stuffing. Her face is carefully and lovingly hand painted and embroidered. Her hair is made from several different yarns hand dyed by myself to achieve the overall look and tone I imagined for her. Her hair is semi styled and the flowers in her hair and all her details were handmade by me. All appliques are handmade for her. Ione’s clothing is removable with the exception of the lace sleeves on her arms. She carries a faux leather satchel and matching faux leather booties. She also has a beautiful handmade hat made from black felt, ribbon and hand selected little baubles and beads I had reserved for her. She has a beautiful sachet hand sewn onto her little wrist. She has a custom chocker necklace made from hand dyed lace and embellished with tiny black glass beads. She was truly a joy to make and I hope she spreads that joy wherever she goes.
Your doll will be sent to your home with a certificate of authenticity hand signed by me, Diana of NightMoon Atelier. Also, I do include a little “thank you” scented sachet gift made by me and sent from my heart to yours. I am very grateful that you have entrusted me and my handmade doll shop with a purchase that is one of a kind and made with joy and intention.
All dolls created by myself for NightMoon Atelier are collectible dolls which have been designed to be treasured keepsakes and/or collectors items. Please protect your treasured keepsake by keeping your doll away from direct sunlight and liquid of any kind. The dolls hair is made with either premium yarn or on occasion Teeswater locks that should not be over handled as a best care practice.
Due to some detailed bead work, this doll is not recommended for children under 5 years old.
